sewing velcro on

I'm making new leader cloths for my z44 quilting frame. Sewing on sticky back velcro to the fabric, the first panel went on just fine with no problems because of the sticky back, but the next panel just won't sew at all. It keeps messing up the bobbin thread. It is a different make of velcro than the first one. Could this be the reason? Does anyone have any suggestion besides buying more of the same kind and trying again? Everythiing seems fine on just fabric, but not when I try to sew on the velcro.

I've never sewn through the sticky backed kind...only the regular velcro....It is SO sticky that i would be really afraid of messing up my machine.....I'm sure someone will have more/better insight.

I concur, sticky Velcro is too hard to machine stitch through. I also have a harder time sewing through the hook side then the fuzzy side. I place tissue paper over the hooks and sew that way but that is with the kind without the adhesive.

Sticky Velcro gummed up my needle so bad, I swore -- then swore I'd never use it again. Try cleaning the needle with alcohol. Then throw the Velcro away and get sew-on.

You are NOT suppose to sew thru the sticky back Velcro. You can ruin your machine.

Sticky Velcro is not intended for sewing, it is better used for attaching things to walls or pelmets, if using on fabric better to use the sew on variety as its name suggests that is how it's intended to be attached. The glue on sticky Velcro could damage your machine

That sticky back is pretty strong adhesive. As others have said not meant for machine sewing.
