This is probably the least expensive of most lotions out there. I use pure Glycerin which is clear...Walmart $2.97 for 6 oz. Put a drop in one hand and add a drop of water (1:1 ratio) and rub in before you go to bed. I used to have cracks at the corners of nails and would wear four bandages at one time on both hands, but if you do this faithfully during winter/heating season, rarely will there be cracks. I use it all over my body as I have very dry skin. My heels often crack, too, but they are much better now along with the use of a sanding paddle (Sally's Beauty Supply). If you use Glycerin at night, you won't need to continue reapplying during the day like other lotions.

I read before that Neutrogenia is good to use while free motion quilting instead of using gloves so if people are using it for that, it must not be greasy.

my hands use to get very sore and ceacked and I talked to the lady at the quilt shop and she said handling unwashed fabric can caude that as it has formaldahyde in it so I always at least rinse my fabric in very hot water no soap and no fabric sotner in the dryer and now no dry cracked hands what a difference

We love Zim's Crack Creme in the small spray bottle works great for any cracked skin. I love it for my
heels. We also have the Creme in the tube but the spray works faster. Used to be $5. at Walmart or CVS.
Could not find it in the stores last year and ordered it online.

If your udder cream is like the one in the UK it's got lanolin in it. So for those of us who are allergic to lanolin it causes more problems. I use coconut butter at night and in winter when my hands and feet come to that are really dry I slather them in the cream and then wear cotton gloves and socks. Works for me.

My dermatologist just recommended Aveeno for dried cracked skin. I buy it at Walgreen's.

Mary Kay products makes a wonderful night cream for hands. It's a very heavy lubricant, but smells wonderful and works very well. My hands used to be so dry they would actually crack open and bleed in the winter. Since I started using this product a couple times a week, that no longer happens.

udder cream is good. Doesn't leave a greasy feeling on your hands. You can get it at walmart. As a cross stitcher i used it a lot and didn't have to worry about it leaving anything on my fabric.

good stuff!

One more GOOD reason to wash your fabric first.:)
