SewTites Magnetic Sewing Pins
Have any of you used the sewtites magnetic sewing pins? I listened to a podcast yesterday: Just Wanna Quilt, and the 2 sisters that came up with the idea of sewing magnets are interviewed.

I just went to the Sewtites site and listened to the story behind the concept. I would consider purchasing this new product. I can see right now where I can put them to use when moving seams through my FW where pins are not practical. Good idea.

They are very expensive and quite bulky. I can't make myself spend the money. I wonder if I could find some flatter magnets somewhere else?
Wouldn't they stick to the throat plate of your Featherweight? |
Think I saw a YouTube with Tula Pink and she used them for EPP- English paper piecing.

I found a box of magnetic blank name tag bars with three magnets per name badge about 1 /12 inches long at a thrift store. I have been using these for years in place of pins. I do like the idea of small round ones.
The name on the box is Magreen Magnets 30 pack |
One of the review about the Magreen Magnets on Amazon : Near perfect dupe for Sew Tites magnetic quilting pins. These are the same dimensions as the teal medium sized Sew Tites.

I saw these sewtites at a friends house and just priced them, since I got a few gift cards for Amazon. I was looking at the magnetic badge holders and wondering if they would work so thanks for your post! Doing more investigation-will need to buy more as they are smaller in size. I knew there had to be a cheat because quilters are so creative and smart!

I saw those a while back and found them to be prohibitively expensive. You can buy the magnetic name badge holders for half the price, they're nearly identical.
