Sharon Schamber's Hoop-Dee-Doo
Does anyone have any experience with this hooping system? I've watched the videos and it looks like the initial set up is a little cumbersome, but I can not find any reviews about it's use.

Could you provide a link to the hooping system?

It is an hour-long video, so have your tea ready. |
I don't think this process is worth the trouble. I did not watch the whole video but it wore me out just watching about half of it. Not for me.

Watched the video all the way through and if I machine embroidered it seems like it would be worth the time to put this together. She says she can get 100 hooped embroideries done with it. Sounds like a time saver to me. Didn't check the price but made a lot of sense to me.

What you learn from Sharon Schamber is prep work is the key to quality finished work.

I only found this discussion, most similar to what's been wondered about here...
http://www.splintersandthreads.com/p.../NTN-HDD-Basic In the piece she was working on in the you tube video, there was an awful lot of puckering around her own design(especially the long blue one with the daisies)...so I am wondering if she has gotten the alignment better but sacrificed the piece laying flat? I also noticed in some of her other videos, that she cuts out the embroidery, then appliques it to her quilts, so maybe in her case puckering doesn't matter. I know that I wouldn't pay anyone 60 dollars for a piece of foam and some double stick tape, though! It might be worth experimenting with if you have an old hoop to play with. |
i confess ... i got bored and skeptical once she finally got to the double-sided tape. gave up watching.
can anyone who is not as lazy as i was indulge us in a reader's digest version of the system? pretty please ... with sugar on top? |
Totally agree....yawning! Not only was her voice 'droney', the movement of her hands made my eyes hurt!!! Seems like an awful lot of work to me. I'll take my chances 'the old way'..
