Sharon Schamber's Iron Shoe

Have you seen the show where she explains how to make this?
Unfortunately we don't have The Quilt Show here. Would really appreciate
if someone could explain how it's made. I found the templates online
but it doesn't do me much good without proper instructions. I saw
a picture but I'm still not sure how to make it fit the iron. Please help.

The Quilt Show is online. I don't understand how you don't have it.

Anyone can access The Quilt Show, but there are only certain parts of the website that are free. To have access to all the shows and the excellent teaching videos, etc it is a subscription cost-you can choose 6 months or a year. I have learned many things and find it worth it as I also enjoy learning about types of quilting or processes I may never try myself, but appreciate the artist's work. Seeing the studios of professionals and the unique places they film is also interesting. Others find the options on Youtube and personal websites sufficient. The link is thequiltshow.com

I don't get it either....unless you are ironing sticky interfacing???? I have a purchase one took it off.

I bought one at an LQS. It doesn't even fit the Reliable correctly. I have the old standard metal cover. I use it if I'm using starch, or any stickyback iron on or stitch witchery type products. I hate cleaning the iron.

As soon as I use my iron like this, I run it over a very damp (not wet) cloth that's been soaked in baking soda and water and hit the steam and on the hottest setting. I do it till it comes clean about 5 minutes. then on another cloth to check it.

The iron shoe is made of a teflon sheet so nothing sticks to your iron when you
are dealing with sticky stuff like interfacing or starch. You don't need a pressing
cloth when you use the iron shoe.

Don't use starch so I figure I don't need this...thing.
