Sharpener for Rotary Blades
Has anyone had any experience with blade sharpeners. I use an Olfa 45 mm blade and it seems to dull so frequently. Also has anyone used the ginger cutter?

I can't provide any information, but I wanted to thank you for posting this cause I have the same question. Sharpeners are not real cheap and I worry they may not work. I've tried the sharpening method I think I read about on this forum that uses aluminum foil, but it's not ideal. Can't wait to read from people who use a sharpener.

I don't have a blade sharperner, but have seen quite a few posts on this subject. Type in blade sharpner in search and see what pops up.

I have the Truesharp Power Sharpener. My sister gave it to me for my birthday. I think it does an OK job. With the prices of blades, if I can get 2-3 more uses out of each blade then I think it is well worth the money (especially since I use the 60 mm blades).

I have used the one for the 60mm blades and it does work. Can't say they stay sharpened as long as they should. I'm now looking for a 45mm sharpener.

Has anyone used the Gingher rotary cutter?

I wondered about the sharpener myself. I only get MAYBE one quilt a blade if not two blades a quilt. I've been saving my used blades (60 and 45) hoping to get a sharpener.

I've had two different kinds and neither one worked. It was a big waste of money for me.

I use a True Cut sharpener (link attached). I almost never change the blade any more. I think this sharpener is terrific. http://www.google.com/products/catal...d=0CH4Q8wIwAQ#

I like my little round "Twist 'n Sharp" it works great for me. My friend brought her blades to sharpen and she couldn't use it to sharpen her blades. I sharpened her blades for her and it worked fine. I think that whatever kind you buy there is a knack to using one that has to be learned.
