I was just wondering how you guys all sharpen your scissors. I don't have a place avaible that sharpens scissors. My mother always used a glass coke bottle. But,I don't think that really works well. I bought one of those sharpeners at Walmart but it only gets so uch of it. So, How do you sharpen yours?

I just take mine to the "Scissor Man" who has a booth at almost every quilt show in our area. He does a great job and his charge is very reasonable.
Also, you could check with your local fabric store. They may know someone who does sharpening. |
our local Jo-Ann offers the service occasionally.

I take them to my local hardware store - a man stops by when there are things to be sharpened, and the turn around time is usually under a week.
|
I usually don't buy expensive scissors. I just get a new pair when they get dull and use the old ones for paper or crafts. I do most of my fabric cutting with the rotary cutter now.

Ask you local Beauty Supply or Beauty Shop. Hair dressers are VERY picky about their scissors, too.

I send my Ginger scissors back to the Ginger Co. I have had some bad experienes having them done locally.

I bought a FISKARS sissors sharpner, Works great.

I was at my parents house at Easter. I took something for me to work on while there. I was cutting apart some jeans for a rag quilt, and struggling with the thick seams. My dad said he would fix that for me, and took my Ginghers to his sharpening stone, then to his steele. Aye Carumba! These will cut bricks now!
