I haven't seen this one, but it looks like it's part of her "Setting Solutions" techniques (for lack of a better word).
FWIW, I thought SS was one of BEST quilting books I ever read - yeah, actually read it.

Again, I don't mind doing the math or chopping off the extra fabric if I used over-sized triangles or squares to make snowballs, so I don't know that I'd buy it

(btw, I thought of your earlier post from a few weeks ago on that ruler you bought to make HST/QST with the fudge factor already built in.

I like the idea of doing that as a guild activity.

I think it is very interesting and might be a good one to get. I have not seen it before. I buy a lot of rulers and enjoy using them, but right now I have so many I can't buy more. May give this one some thought. Thank you BellaBoo.

I think the bloclok rulers are great. My guild has a set of them and they are worth the money.

I don't think I would want to use the cutting corner ruler. It may waste a little fabric to strip piece and then cut to shape, but it's a lot easier than cutting first and then trying to get the angles right when you sew the pieces together. On the other hand, that Bloc Loc ruler looks great! I just finished about 200 HST's, and I could have really used it. But first I'll try just putting a strip of tape or moleskin down the diagonal of a square ruler and see if that works just as well. I use my small rotating cutting mat, so I don't need to swivel the ruler, just the mat.

First, I don't envy you making the 200 HST's.

It seems like a couple layers of painters tape would work.
I can't remember if the ruler flattened out on the side with the ledge, but that can be worked around.

W0W - the package of the six smaller rulers, from 1.5" to 6.5" is $80.
Ouch.
I would think the 6.5" would suffice for all the smaller sizes.

I might be more likely to shell out for the BlocLoc Half Rectangle ruler.

I see cost differently then most. When something that will last for years cost $80. I see .22 a day for one year. If I can afford the daily cost then I buy it. That's how DH and I decided on the price of our house, our cars, everything. If we could afford the daily cost then we knew we were okay.

I think I would like that ruler. I HATE all the waste doing corners the other way. Would love to see it demo'd.

BellaBoo...Very interesting take on the price of "stuff". Just might have to remember that the next time something looks too expensive...Think of how long we have our sewing machines...cars, etc...for years and years...Buy the best!!
