Shirret rugs from left over scraps
I was at the Wool fest and they had a demo on how to Shirret a rug. Soooo easy even I can do it. I have not checked out the website yet but its shirret.com
You take small strips of left over fabrics and poke the special shirret needle into the fabric. than you use that needle that looks a lot like a crochet needle and crocket and pull. It is really easy and really nice. You can make a purse, rug, placemats and I am sure many other items...with your fabric scraps!!!! Love it! Does anyone else here make them? |
Here is another good link that shows you what it looks like...they are really nice and so easy! http://shirret.com/Links.htm

Here is a video I found on how to do this. http://shirret.com/How_2_Shirret.mov

I looked at your post because the topic "Shittet" made me giggle LOL.
But it looks like a facinating technique, thanks for sharing :) |

So is the technique similar to latch hook only with fabric instead of rug yarn? Your description sounds like it might be.
