Should i change this?

Not sure what to think about the green with red trees block, would you change it?
Yeah, it's adorable, but it doesn't seem to match the more muted reds & greens you have in the rest of the quilt. I'd save it for something else.
I think it is the green background behind the trees that is throwing off the colour scheme. Too yellow green rather than sage green. Cute top!
Yes, I think I'd change it, too. In fact, I might think about taking the 2 all-over white ones out as well. All the rest of the blocks look like a block inside a block. Those 3 seem odd. Sorry.
I also think you should replace that block with something else. It doesn't fit with the others very well.
I think the fabric could work if you bordered it like many of the other blocks are bordered. Nana-up-north's point of the other unbordered blocks looking odd rings true for me, too, but they seem more OK because of their color. If you don't care to border the tree block, I think I'd take it out, too. I can't really say what is wrong with it, but it does jump out of the quilt a bit.
Looking at it tonight... other than the fact the picture is posted up side down.... I'd leave it exactly as is! Love it.... we don't have to have all our blocks exactly the same.

like it the way it is! really had to stare at it to find what you think is wrong! LOL its OK!
That one block feels christmas to me the rest are outdoor and camping.
Cute quilt though. |
I think the block could work if you changed the placement to another area of the quilt, more towards the center.
I'd leave it as is, I really like that quilt.
The white to me is fine but I would change the red trees. Love the quilt.
I click the photo twice to see it right side up. I would save it for another project. Ir is what I call a screamer and the rest of the quilt is very calming.
Agree. what ManiacQuilter2 and nena said.
Nope I like the mix and balance
Actually I would move one of the 9 patches to row 4 it is without one |
I really love it so far! I love all the camping fabrics. It's going to a great quilt. But yep... I agree replace that one block simply because I think the color seems off.
I like the fabric but it doesn't seem muted like the other colors. You can try to tea dye it. I have had some success with this when I needed to mute the brightest of a fabric. Also, as someone else suggested, you could border it like the other blocks and it would blend in better. Cute quilt!
I think it's cute but would better suit in another project....theme of it kind of throw it off balance but otherwise it's adorable top!
Change the block for something more muted.
Speaking of "upside-down", why isn't there a solution for this??? It is so annoying and my mind simply can't adjust to trying to make it right.
Cute quilt top. I would take that one out and also have all the blocks have a border on them. I love the compass block.
There is no right or wrong answer as long as it holds together and you're happy.
If it was mine, I would want borders on all the blocks and the green and red trees block does jump out at me. I had to look again to see the other two blocks without borders. Is the intended recipient likely to care? Rodney |
I agree with Tartan, the background green is wrong for the rest of your greens. Very pretty quilt.
Yes, I'd change it. The green isn't the same as the others.

If the colors are showing true, and that block is indeed brighter and more "Christmassy" in tone, I think I would also change it out.
As for having the three blocks that are not square in a square, I am good with that, as I like a little change up here and there in my quilts sometimes. I might separate the two that are touching a little more though. |
 v I do believe that it will all be well once you have quilted it and washed it a few times. When in doubt, I find it best to either add more of the questionable fabric, or remove it. Howsomeever, I find your composition to be quite pleasant and acceptable as photographed and needing no revisions.
It's adorable- no need to change it up!!
How abut using it as the background for your label on the back of your quilt? Prepare your label and applique it to this block.
To me, the very fact that you asked means you are not 100% comfortable with the tree block. I agree that the colors are too bright and it does look like Christmas to me. If I were you, would add borders to the two blocks that are one piece and replace the tree block. I think your quilt is very pretty and woodsy.
