I just inherited a sewing machine from an estate sale last month. It is a Singer Touch-Tronic 2010 Memory.....I have all the attachments and it appears to be used, but not in horrible condition with the exception of what appears to be a broken gear (what I call it).....there is a plastic guard over the metal piece that makes the needle move up and down. I do not know anything about this machine so I do not know if I should try to have her repaired or just put her to rest. Everything else works....I wound the bobbin, touch screen works perfectly, lights up, pedal works.....I just hate to give up on her until I know it is her time to go.......
Hoping someone knows about this machine..... S/N is A2120D118 if that helps any.... Thanks, Debbie |
How about taking it to a repair shop and see what they say. That would make the decision for me.

Is the guard removable? Could it have been put these to stabilize the needle during a move? I would at least check with a repairman. Seems like everything else is in good shape.

I would take it to the repair shop and let them know they are to contact you before doing any repairs. I did that with my Viking #1 and because it was a Viking repair person the part that was going to cost me 160 he found used for 30; just waiting for it to get here from Sweden. It may be nothing but a small adjustment or an easily obtainable part. My machine is old so I was lucky for him to find a used part for it.

I would take it in for an estimate. She is a good machine...
