They would be really neat. I think the jeans sounds like a great idea. I can't imagine trying to quilt such thickness....

It was my FIL's denim quilt that was one of the impetuses for my own quilting. The denim ones are incredibly warm...very heavy.

I like machine quilter over tying - think it holds up better - when washed

I have ones that I have tied that are holding up just fine and they are over 30 years With lots of use and washing of them.

this is very true you can make it a nice family or friendly project.
I think that they hold up very well. And that they keep you warmer tied, in my opinion.
