I have a good friend that wanted to give her boy a signature quilt from all his friends for Christmas. She sent w/one of his good friends muslin pieces that are 4"x7" in a hurried panic. Only she has no idea what to do when they come back:)) I suggested making a double square around it w/the signature in the middle...(signature block, a square cut in half to make 2 triangles to make a square on point, then another to set it straight again)
Do any of you have any suggestions or sites to help w/this size???Thanks very much!! Skeat |
Oh boy...what a weird size to work with. She could just add strips around the edges (log cabin block style) until she gets to the size block she wants to work with and go from there.
Your idea sounds good too though. |
thanks sandpat:)Skeat

Skeat, just an idea, but this block is so quick and easy to do you could make it into a signature quilt. Try my Tute on the Pineapple Block. Easy peasy lemon squeezy. LOl

What about a crumb block (see Tutorials). If she's not into quilting and doesn't have a stash, she could just buy some fat quarters and go from there.

http://www.quilterscache.com/A/AmericanChainBlock.html Is quick and easy, perhaps you can scale up the size a bit?
