don't throw away that last white plastic spoon. leave whole or throw away the spoon part.
When the old eyes won't focus on the needles hole, to thread that needle, slip the piece of plastic behind it...and there is that elusive hole. It really helps it to 'show up'. Slip the thread through...and sew, sew, sew!!!! |

For hand sewing, I use the lampshade...much easier and it's always there when I hand stitch. One sewing machine has a white 'patch' behind the needle eye so don't need anything else for that one and with the other one, I just hold my thumbnail behind the needle eye. Works great and nothing to pick up, put down, or misplace. :)
