I am sure that it NOT of the same quality of the vintage machines. Curious to know what the price will be.

Singers are wonderful machines; even better if metal. I had a Singer that I sewed on continuously for 30 years. It had plastic parts. They started wearing out and breaking, or crumbling one at a time. That is when I switched, and made sure mine now have metal parts.

My late model Singers are constantly in the shop! The vintage ones are never in the shop.

I want to see the anniversary one in real life. I happen to love the Singer brand and have owned several over the years. As I have upgraded, the older one has been passed on to someone else in the family. I bought my 1st new one in 1962, my niece is still using it today and it still sews like a dream.

The Singer 160 won't be officially introduced till early (January) 2012. No details have been released yet. If you go to WWW.SingerCo.com/160 you will see a nice pic of the machine but no details yet. You can sign up and receive an email as soon as Singer releases more info. It was also on the Martha Stewart show this afternoon, I have to say it does look good. Almost a knockoff of the 301 but obviously digital. Don't know whether it is plastic or metal, but can't wait to hear more. I hope that Singer puts out a "great" machine with this one. With so many machines made overseas, they really need to get their name back so we can all start buying their machines again with confidence. I personally would love to own a great machine that is "Made in America".
