Singer 201-2
 

I have my dear Mother in law's Singer Sewing machine, 201-2 probably from the 50's era and it needs a new power cord. I was wondering if anyone could help me find a place that sells them that is reputable dealer. Thanks for the help.

My MIL has a 201-2 from the same era, too. It also needs rewiring, but my DH is an electrician so he's going to do it himself. It is a beautiful machine! I love it:)

it's really very inexpensive to buy the new cord/connectors that I showed the links to.

I do have full intension of using my MIL's machine. It runs great, it's just that the power cord had some cracks in it in several places and I could see the wire, I'm sure it's from old age. I wanted to be safe with a new cord.

I have Helen, my grandmothers 201-3 and years ago I went to Singer dealer, ordered a new cord and wired it in no problem. Have had several people offer to guy her, but I remember the day she came to live with us, Grandma had to borrow $5.00 from me to pay they guy who bought it. This was in Sherbrooke, Que Canada in her big Victorian house in 1951. What I wouldn't give for 1/4 of that room now. But still have beloved Helen, which I learned to sew on. Mom sewed on it for many years too. Memories.

It is a wonderful machine!!

My neighbor has one and has allowed me to sew with it.
