Singer 252 fashion mate

i was selling some tops , books etc at a neighborhood flea market, this past weekend , when one of the vendors came over and said i got something for you and brought me a singer 252. He said it was on the side of the road with some trash, and he wasnt sure if it worked or not. brought it home, cleaned oiled and put a needle in and it sews like a dream, no attachments but it has needle positions. zig zag, width, and length, and reverse. great satin stitch, Someone sent them a manual but it was for a 257 and not quite a match and charged them 8.00 . anyone have any info on this machine. ?? thanks in advance. cmaras1234

Here's a link to a free download for the correct manual. http://www.singerco.com/accessories/...manuals/search

It's not a particularly prized vintage machine, but any vintage machine that works well is worth something. Glad it was rescued!

The thought and care that the vendor had given the machine and you is wonderful. Who cares about value the value of this machine is in the giving.

How thoughtful of them to give this machine to you! I am so happy that it works and someone has given you a link to a free manual so great for you all around! Enjoy!

I totally agree. Too many valuable items are just so casually discarded.
