just got a 99k serial number 919061- what year is it from- can't seem to find that info. Also got a 301A- serial number. What do use to get rid of the musty smells- I think it is just each case carrying that odor.? Thanks much for any info

if you go to the singer site you can enter the serial#/model # and it will tell you exactly when it was made and where.
my 99K was (born on November 20, 1956- in New Jersey)
you can also down load a manual for you machine-free of charge....mine was 56 pages long- i saved it but only printed off the pages i felt i needed.

I laid a bounty softner sheet on mine and in the case. Took a week or so, but it took care of it. Congratulations on your new machines.

Thanks but everytime I plug in the serial number it comes up blank- It was made in Scotland but that's all I can find out- I've put in the info many ways and no luck- feel like a dummy.

Does it have any letter prefixes? If not it looks as tho' it could be as early as 1889
