I have been fortunate enough to obtain card tables for both my fw and 301. I know the tables each have serial numbers, but was wondering if there was any way to date them by using them. Would they be the same dates as the actual machines?

so does the fact that no one has replied mean that no one knows how to date a card table with the serial number that's stamped on it?

I think the problem is that everyone has not been able to log on all day. I know its not just my computer, as a bunch of my online buddies could not get on either. You might try asking Billy over on the Vintage Machine thread. He is our go-to guy for vintage stuff...

This site has information about Singer cabinets and card tables. I don't look to see if it had info about dating the tables. I have the tables for FW and 301 as well.

The date of the tables cannot be determined by the serial number posted underneath the table. Even the actual machines dating becomes a problem in many cases. The tables were constructed by various assigned makers and it is a sort of a mystery to me that there even was a number under them except to cross ref. back to a builder for quality control.

I have completed a study of the tables in the Vintage Singer Yahoo site.

If you go to the Vintage Sewing Machine Shop here you can run through the postings and find lots of pictures of these tables.
