I found a singer featherweight model 100 at a local thrift store, which I bought for $8.00. I was so happy that I had found such a bonanza. Since then, I have followed several threads regarding featherweights, and nobody has mentioned a model 100. Have any of you even heard of a model 100? I did find one on E-Bay today selling for $150.00. Hope to hear from you!!!!!

The old vintage featherweight is model 221 or 222 and usually black (although there are some white ones also).
Yours is probably a newer Singer. The company came out with a small white plastic machine that it called a featherweight. |
This model is a portable Singer but not the original Featherweight machine, just a new line of the new Featherweight machines that never did match up to the name. You got a great deal for $8.

It is white plastic, has six stitch options, including a hemming stitch. It has two speed options, and it converts to free-arm. In general it is a lovely little machine, but quite noisy; however, I have not had time to service it (clean & oil, etc.)

Even though not a vintage featherweight. Don't think you can go wrong for $8. If it is light it will be great to travel with or take to classes.

What a great find. Lucky you.

The Feather Weights came in several colors, Started out in the basic Black then they came in White, Mint Green and Tan. The 222K was the one that was the free arm and the one that I am looking for. That is the ONLY FW I will ever keep. I already traded off a Mint Green one last month that I bought for $25. Billy |
