Singer Stylist II serger
 

I am looking to buy the Singer Stylist II serger. Does anyone recommend or not recommend? It is around $200.00 and has the 2/3/4 thread and differential feed. It also opens in the front for easier threading. Do you say yeah or nay?

I don't know about the singer your thinking, but I bought a Singer at a garage sale,new in the box,Thought I could thread it (so many said that was the problem with theirs) I could never adjust it right where the thread ends came out where the material ends.It always had an overhang that drove me crazy.I ended up just leaving it on a shelf. Now I'm just about to get a babylock that I watched sew from the sheerest to heavy denim without a touch of any button to change anything. Went right to the edge just like I want. Sometimes you get what you pay for.Just keep in mind if you get frustrated it might not be op/error. BTW buy it from a dealer since you can get classes for it is my suggestion. Though I had the book (it was truly new unopened in box) and feel I'm very good at reading and putting into action I could NOT get it to work right

I haven't heard anythg good about the $200 singer sergers. I have a $200 brother 1034d and almost everyone who has one (and I know a lot!) loves it. We use them for making cloth diapers and it easily cuts through and overlocks multiple thick layers. It's easy to thread, easy to use, and has differential feed, variable stitch width, and the knife easily disengages. I really think its a phenomenal serger and by far the best at the $2-300 price point.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a new Singer anything, but have heard many good things about Babylok, Brother, Janome, etc.

Okay, thanks for the info. I will just be patient and save up my money!!!

I also have the Brother 1034D and find it easy to use. It is also about $200
