I bought the Sissix Big Kick from Michael's. I was told that it was just like the Sissix Big Shot in that it cuts material. I was wondering if anyone can tell me that it will take Acuiquilt Go dies too or do I have to use the Sissix dies only with it.

I contacted the maker of accuquilt and sizzix and they both said the accuquilt dies will not work in the sizzix.

Go to the Sizzix website: http://www.sizzix.com/ and it should tell you what you need to know.

I have a Cuttlebug which is just like the Big Kick except a different manufacturer and I use the Sizzix dies to cut material on mine all the time - 8 layers thick. If you look at my avatar the flowers on the quilt where cut with the flower die from Stampin Up/Sizzix on the Cuttlebug. I love it! I also have a die that cuts 5" scalloped squares that I use for my rag purses and quilts. PM me for any info, I'd be happy to answer any questions.

The cuttlebug is not just like the Big Kick, actually. The big kick has a slightly wider opening and it does not fold up and have to stick to the table like the cuttlebug. I had the cuttlebug but it kept coming unstuck while I used it, which meant I had to remove the die, close it, and reopen it to stick it again. I've had much better luck with the Big Shot (same as the Big Kick). They are both roll-through type machines though.

I don't have the Big Kick, but have the Big Shot and the Westminster/Sizzix Big Shot Pro. I know that the smaller GO dies will not fit into the Big Shot, they're like 1/4" to wide. Now that's not to say that you can't use them in there as I've seen people on youtube cut that 1/4" off and use them in their Big Shot. (not something I did, just saw some of them demo'ed)
Go dies and even some Studio dies will work in the Big Shot Pro without having to cut any part of the die. |
