Size of Quilt
 

I hope someone can help me. What size is a cot quilt and a bassinette quilt please. I was once told by someone that a cot is 90cm by 110cm is that correct.

I am un-familliar with those sizes. I think I would google it and see what comes up.

I think there may be some confusion because the word cot means different things in different countries. In the US we usually think of a folding bed that an adult can sleep on. In some other countries a cot is a bed for a baby.

Dunster is correct about the various meanings of the word "cot." When I make baby quilts, I think in terms of the size of the baby mattress, and I subtract 6"-8" from the length. That said, the more powerful determinant of the finished quilt size has to do with the pattern I'm making.

Thank you, gee lots of people make them different sizes, I think I will go by what my panel says. Sorry I live in Australia, and we call them bassinettes, cots and single beds, double beds, and of course Queen size beds. I keep forgetting that other countries call them different names. I am sorry

keep in mind that babies should not have any blanket in their bed a floor quilt or play mat is best for tummy time!

Goodness things have changed since I was a young mum, I had sheets, and a blanket on my little ones, and gee they are still thriving.

Guess my daughters are lucky to be alive too, not to mention all their cousins. But there must be a good reason.
