Seems like if a person did a lot of applique it would be beneficial?

I was trying to read the reviews that I found at Amazon.com. However, it seems they were talking about scrapbooking. Are there two different slicers? Yes, if you were doing applique it seems it would be beneficial if you were designing your own appliques. However, the reviews I read (keeping in mind they were talking about scrapbooking) were rather mixed as to how good the machine actually is. There were a lot of defective one that had to be sent out and the battery charge didn't last a long time.

I don't have one, or indeed anything like it. I think it could be one of those gadgets that may end up in the unused gadgets pile after the gloss wears off. Unless of course you are a manic appliquer. Another question I would have is "Do you have to apply the fusible for it to work effectively?". I applique from time to time but generally do not use fusible, just needle turn or the old press over the template method. Of course if it is a reasonable price, and the cost of the disks isn't prohibitive it could be a useful thing. Look forward to seeing everyone's comments.

as with most gizmo's... the " plates" seem expensive to me

I was at a quilt shop today and she demonstrated how to use this on fabric w/iron on fusible. Really neat!

I don't care for the fusible technique either, but I was wondering if using freezer paper would help. It would stabilize the fabric for cutting, but could be removed when finished. Just wondering. It does look like a fun new toy!
