sand paper dots
Invisi grip - a clear plastic that is put on the back of tempates. It is a cling plastic. I have it on all my rulers

If you have a Dollar Tree near they have felted dots. These usually cost about 3 bucks at other stores. I use them and they work great for me.

I just double clear scotch tape upon itself (to make it double sided), stick to back of ruler, place ruler on fabric where I want it and cut. The tape removes cleanly from both ruler and fabric and can be used quite a few times before it needs to be replaced. Inexpensive and practical. I use this a lot when I am cutting hexagons. Works great.

I use the little stick on sandpaper grips, they are small and flat. I also took an 8 inch piece of tape, 2 inch wide.
In the middle of the ruler I stuck 3 inches to the ruler, then 2 inches onto it's self and the last 3 inches back on the ruler, making the 2 inches work like a handle so I could pick it up without fighting it. Syl

I just got the small gripper from Connecting threads, it's nice, I have the big one also, for the big rulers. Sure keeps your fingers up and out of the way....

You can get a similiar small gripper clamp at Harbor Freight and it's cheaper. It's not the purple color, the one I got was red.
They also have the 45mm rotary blades (they call them carpet blades) for a very good price. Just watch out as they are very sharp.

I like Dollar Tree, it is the only Dollar store that everything is still a dollar. I can always find things to buy in there.

Oh ya, Thanks for the tip, I will look for those next time I go there.
