I have one and I'm leery of using large pieces of fabric, you have to be very careful when you fold the fabric or you get zig zags. I only use mine for short strips with one fold. It makes cutting the strips for strip quilting go super fast.

Also when folding your fabric in 1/2 to cut be sure to iron the fold on each fold. This will keep the line straight.

I love mine, all my strips are the correct width. It also saves a lot of time.

The key for me is to carefully place the rotary cutter in the "tear-drop" shaped opening at the bottom of the mat and then move the rotary cutter up the opening. Once you get use to using it I think you may find that it can save a lot of time cutting strips because you don't have to move the mat for each cut.
