I need to vent. I cannot seem to post any replies without waiting 5-10 min for the board to respond. I am so frustrated I could spit. I have been wanting to tell several how pretty their quilts are and I can't. Now I see they took my regular status away and that is not fair. I've been trying. I think it stinks. I guess now I can get something done here at home instead of being on the board so much. I'm gonna miss it but oh well. Right now I'm at a loss for words.

Colorful Quilter 04-04-2011 09:53 PM

So sorry you are having this trouble, maybe it has to do with the storms?? just wondering

Prism99 04-04-2011 09:55 PM

Wow, and I thought I had it bad because my replies have been taking 10 seconds! (Used to be 2 seconds.)

Edit: Seems to me the board is faster tonight. This post took about 3 seconds, plus opening posts seems to be back to normal time. Maybe, just maybe.......

cheryl rearick 04-04-2011 09:59 PM

Guess I am lucky, it is a little slower but not much for me... Seems to be faster past couple of days. COMPAIRED to first day. :) Hope things get better for you. I know if I seem to be to slow I reboot and it seems to hlep some. Also certain times of day it is slower than others. (for me)

M.I.Late 04-04-2011 10:05 PM

I'm in Houston and my QB is crawling or at least was around 8pm. It's 1 am here now and it's much faster. Don't know if it was so slow because there were many of us on or what. It actually went down while I was online - seemed like a crash to me. Hopefully it's fixed now. Here's hoping!

glenda5253 04-04-2011 10:12 PM

The QB site is going a little better tonite (knock on wood). Last night it was click the mouse...go make dinner...maybe it would move...click again...do dinner dishes... You get the idea!

Jim 04-04-2011 10:17 PM

only delay I have is about 5 seconds now for a post to go thru...I figure its changes going on with new setup but its still well worth it to have such a fantastic thread for us quilters with all the perks we have here...key for me is to endure the changes for improvement..its in our best interest.... only trying to make things better

gaigai 04-04-2011 11:17 PM

I've had so many problems connecting that things time out more often than not. It has taken more than 50 seconds most of the time to connect or open a thread, or a reply, and I frankly can't sit around for hours waiting on a slow server. I know that the problem isn't my computer, because I don't have any problems when I open other tabs to other sites.

The double and triple posts are a pain also!! The most recent server upgrade sure did break what wasn't broken to begin with, apparently.

cathylynn 04-04-2011 11:36 PM

hmmm. I will count my blessings. I've had no trouble with anything on the board during this whole maintenance bit. thank you QB IT staff.

debbieumphress 04-05-2011 12:22 AM

Crabbypatty - The loss of your regular status probably has nothing to do with the change to a new server. Try to go and read the rules of the board. I know it explains this status. SOmetimes if you do not post enough in two weeks it changes and all you have to do is have fun and post more things and chat. GOod luck. I am lucky to have had no issues but I went to PAtriceJ's topics and read what she has posted many times to do to our computers to speed things up and even though I've had no probelms from them, my computer is faster.
BTW you can also go to Rhonda or someone's ebooks and purchase one for a good price, and you will be a COMmunnity benefactor" and it never changes. HUGS♥♥
You can always ask a moderator to check your status too and they can tell you why it changed. Easy solution. :) :)

carolaug 04-05-2011 02:05 AM

I was having the same issue....I thought it was my computer at first but all other sites were working fine. It seems to be working better today.

watterstide 04-05-2011 02:29 AM

it was taking a little longer for reply to take..i was being patient, and not hitting reply again, so i wouldn't get double post.

it is running fast this morning!

sunflower126 04-05-2011 03:16 AM

I'm having no problems with speed. My problem is when I reply to something in posts on a compleltly different page and therefore makes no sense to the person reading it. (Like in a word game I have been playing)

pocoellie 04-05-2011 04:36 AM

I'm with gaigai, why "fix it" when it's not broken. Many times I have been unable to open anything, so I come back later and am able to, but when posting to a topic, it's a whole lot slower than it used to be, although I don't have time to fix dinner. But, I guess that's a good thing, since we'll spend more time quilting instead of being on here. LOL This is the first time I've posted today, and it does seem to be a lot faster than previous. Thank you, Admin.

Coley Banicki 04-05-2011 05:32 AM

the boards been slow, thats for sure. but as for you regular staus, it says you're a regular still

twospoiledhuskies 04-05-2011 05:58 AM

It's not about a storm. I totally agree. SO MUCH FOR MAKING IT BETTER- NOT!!! I have to click on a topic 2-3 times before it will open. Then I too give up trying to post a pic or respond.

I love this site, but is now very frustrating :(

I've done this & "community benefactor" didn't ever appear. But I decided I don't care...no matter what my status says, I'm here & not going anywhere.

davidwent 04-05-2011 06:08 AM

I guess I'm lucky, no problems here at all
David

Renee110 04-05-2011 06:12 AM

I haven't had much of a problem. Its a little slow loading pictures and posting replies, but not bad.

pollyjvan9 04-05-2011 06:48 AM

I haven't received an e-mail for several days. And this seems to be the only site that is SssLllOooWoo.

EagarBeez 04-05-2011 07:40 AM

I notice under your name it says you are a regular here. The board seems much better then it has been.
We should be patient, with our admin. She is doing the best she can...using a new server as I read. I am willing to wait, as she gets everything in place.

JCquilts 04-05-2011 07:44 AM

I suggest contacting admin when you have problems with accessing and response.

I did and got a response. As with anything that changes, things need to be worked out. And you cant fix it if you dont know where the problems exist.

asmmauer 04-05-2011 07:53 AM

I have been having trouble on and off this past week I get error messages for server .think it might be the storms.

If we can't access the board, we certainly can't access Admin. And after the fact (usually long after, because I've given up for the day) doesn't help.

I know it wasn't the boards fault that I lost the status of regular, but what I was saying is that if I couldn't post, how could I keep the status? That's all I was saying. What am I doing on here anyway? I told myself to lay off for a couple of weeks til' they got all the kinks out. You can see how well myself listens.LOL

Crabby Patty 04-05-2011 11:16 AM

Hey! I just read one of the replies that said that my regular status is back up. Boy am I red faced.  Thank you board. I appreciate it. I noticed that my replies are even a smidge faster, but at least they are posting now. Keep our fingers crossed because that has to be a headache to the adm.

It has been slow for me, too. Today, however, it is MUCH faster! I'm so excited!!!

justwannaquilt 04-05-2011 11:27 AM

Be careful venting around here, you might just end up getting told.... "Don't complain about this here. We can't help you. In future, also watch your language. Your post was not only pointless, it was offensive." like I did!

Oh well life goes on! :)
