I would like to use up a lot of my stash by making small charity quilts. Big ones wear me out and I lack the skills to do them well. And I lack the funds to get them done. So, small quilts. Does anyone know requirements & a good place to send quilts for wheelchair-bound folk? Thanks

Check with a VA hospital close to you.

Nursing homes and Veteran's organizations are other places that could use them too :D:D:D

Our hospital is always asking for donated quilts for the neonatal unit. They do have a specific size request, but if you have a hospital close you could ask them.

Neonatal ones are usually about the size of a placemat, that's small, but do call your local hospital for size and whether they want them washed before you donate them.

You might check with Quilts for Kids (QFK) to see if they are in your size range or if that would work for you.

From my hospital volunteering days, I'd say that washed or not washed, the hospital will still sterilize them before letting them touch the body of a baby that probably has a weak immune system. And such a thing will be a boost to the frantic parents who need to know that someone is thinking of them. |
The Alzheimers Art Quilt Initiative takes small ones. Here's the link. Your creativity is the perfect match for this project, Dotty.

Check out Project Linus. They absorbed ABC quilts, which go to "At-Risk" babies and children. The sizes are roughly 40 to 45" square.
