I think this would be a novel Valentine gift for my little friends who are athletic. What size is good for a 8-14 year old?

cute idea how about the side of a pce of notebook paper, 8x10 or so, and quilt it into uneels, .
i made one for myself that size with 3 evenly spaced rows of quilting.

(show us your yo-yos. haven't seen any)

Hi dottie! Long time no "see".

I think somewhere around 6" by 12" would be good. That way it would wrap around a sore spot on the back, or hang over a knee easily without having to hold it there with your hand.

I use flax seed from the bulk section at the grocery instead of the rice. It doesn't stink and has a higher tolerance to the heat. I got this "idea" from a shop that sells these worldwide called the Lavendar Shop. I only have to heat it 30 seconds and it stays warm for 30 minutes. A couple drops of lavendar oil is very soothing too!

This is a great idea for a gift for guys too.

Take care,
Red

I make them according whatever size piece of fabric I have.
I have found that using a small hand towel or wash cloth to hold rice works good. Cover can be removed to wash.

Here is the link to the place I was talking about dottie. It is really a neat place to visit.

Do all grocery stores carry flax seed? or do you get it at health food stores? Dumb question for today..

Do all grocery stores carry flax seed?

Not the ones in the boonies where I live! LOL!
Ours do have lots of rice though.

I like to make channels in the bag for the rice, so it doesn't bunch all up in one spot :D:D:D

I make ones that are 3x5 inches to put in the kids pockets. Nice if they have to wait for the bus or something!

Great idea! I'm going to see if I can get some flax seed/Thanks Red!
