Small Wedge Template-Missouri Quilt

I am all ready to try making some mini-carrots using my small wedge template, but it is awol. If you have this template, could you please tell me the base and height measurements?

Thanks so much,
Margaret

I don't have one but I do think someone here will have an answer for ya.

You don’t need a special ruler to make carrots. Cut out a circle and cut it in half. See how much of the 1/2 circle you need to make a cone shape, maybe 1/4? Cut the top of the shape straight and sew up the side of the cone, turn it right side out and run a row of gathering stitches around the top edge. Stuff the carrot and put greens in the top as you gather the top around them and sew to secure.

A few years ago, I used the large wedge and Jennie's directions to make some stuffed carrots. Thought this year I'd make some small, stubby ones, and that the small wedge might be the right size for that.

Well, my awol small wedge turned up this morning, so now I can answer my own question. For anyone who might be interested, it has a 3.25" base, 4.5" height, and is 4 7/8" on each of the two sides.

Without it yesterday, I drafted one that is almost exactly the same size...just a little wider near the top.

Thanks, Tartan, for the detailed directions for a pattern.

Now to see how these come out.
