Yes, get the DVD, do a general google search & you will find it on sale. $47 @ CT http://www.connectingthreads.com/Boo...t__D90148.HTML And watch you don't use WD-40! Dave McCallum covers everything about the FW machines & cases, but you can see that it applies to all the other old singers as well.
He specifically addresses why the old cases stink (hide glue) & how to remedy the problem. Of course he recommends you change out the felt pad or clean it. I can't recall what he used to clean it...but it's all covered.
Now I maintain all my old singers myself, with this DVD.

Please don't get rid of your case...or at least offer it for sale to someone who needs one. Dave McCallum covers the smelly case issue & how to remedy it in "Those Fantastic Featherweights DVD"...it is hide glue. Rather than mask the odor, he explains how to kill the offender with heat.
For those who feel they just want a new case, they are out there for sale...that fit the FW perfectly.

Put a bowl of white vinegar in the case and close it up the best you can. Put the foot pedal in something and do the same. the vinegar will kill all the smell. Let it sit a day or so.

Sunshine and wadded up newspapers sometimes help.

That is exactly what I was going to say. wadded up newspaper does absorb odors.

My featherweight came from Florida and smelled very damp, musty. I just left the machine out in the sun. The case was left in the sun for over a year! (It was in the house. I just forgot about it.) I am amazed that all the bad odors have gone. I hope you are sucessful. Pat
