I am taking scraps and making pet beds. I bought fabric at goodwill to use but it smells musty! I've washed it and used fabreeze with no luck. Is it a lost cause? The freezer didn't work either. I know it's just for animals but I wouldnt want my precious dog to lie on it! Any suggestions??

Try white vinegar in the wash. I have heard it will remove smells from fabric.

You can also throw some baking soda in the water and rinse with the vinegar.
Or seal it up in a bag with baking soda or charcoal or some kitty litter or newspaper. Sometimes I find that it is the dryer that brings the smell out so maybe you could air dry it? |
I add a bit of amonia to the wash water.

Definitely try the baking soda. It's a natural deoderant.
Or get an "odor eater" and seal the fabric in with it for a day or so. Good luck! |
