I've used several of the free snap bag tutorials from the internet, but like the finished product from this one best because there aren't any raw edges:

The links are very helpful. There was someone on here making bags from a pattern she had bought at an LQS , so I bought the pattern, I haven't made them yet. I think these free tutorials would be a good way to go and save 9.00 bucks and shipping.

I read the instructions at tattered gardens and she says to put the tape in facing the right side. My instructions from Stitching Sisters, Snap Happy tells me to place the tape with the numbers facing the inside. I have made these and they work like a charm. Have no idea if it matters, so try it out. Before you close up the material

Freddie, I read somewhere that you can insert the tape either way, and that one way (can't remember which) lets the bag close with more of a snap than the other. I prefer to place mine same as you, with the curved edges facing out. Like this: () rather than like this: )( For one thing, it seems to put less stress on the side seams.
