snip its

A gal brought a wall hanging to our quilt guild and she said it was snipits little tiny pieces fused and then quilted. Her's was a vase with flowers in it. Anyone else seen this done or knows how to go about doing it.

I saw something you described once on Simply Quilts. The lady made spider mums among other flowers where she used iron-on adhesive to various fabrics, then she quickly cut the fabric into various shapes. The called them snip-its because she cut quickly and fairly small little pieces. She then arranged the pieces on a piece of teflon (not sure exactly what) ironed the pieces so they would stay in place but not stick to the teflon sheet and after making several flowers and stems she arranged them on the background piece. When she was happy with the arrangement she would iron it all to the background and then quilted it.
