 I'd like to receive a suggestion on how to realize some small heaps of snow over branches in a machine appliquè pannel.
I have in mind to appliquè white fabric and then cover it with.....what? to give the illusion of soft snow. I apologize for my bad english. Thank to all |
maybe that soft glittery tulle? Sounds pretty
|
why not combine white with a bluish sparkly fabric..be sure and show us when you finish
Your English is fine and your spelling is probably better than mine A big welcome to you, we are happy to have you as a member :D :D :D :D |
You could also use a white metallic thread if you want to do quilting with it.
Welcome!! Lee |
Perhaps you could cover it with thin tulle or a white chiffon? I like your idea to make it look more "real". :)
Welcome to the board. We're glad you're here! |
A great place for some specialty threads - the holographics and sparkly ones would give an icy touch. For snow itself, I might use something more soft and inviting to the touch, flannel, fleece, or similar. Fleece gets very dimensional when stitched. Is this for a bed quilt or wall hanging?

I like the chiffon Idea. something that sparkles would seem ideal. I also think you might experiment with white flannel or fleece. Definately let us know what you come up with. I'm thinking on ways to represent fog, any suggestions in that area would be appreciated.

If your talking about snow laden branches or snow covered rocks, hand embrodiery is nice, I know labor intensive but nice. Or use a straight stitch going back and foruth on chosen area. If you want snow falling how about little white seed beads? Or the clear sequins, spread about? I know some of this requires hand work, but the effects are sooo nice, and worth it, unless your wanting quanity instead of quality. Just a thought,,,,,

just a thought ...
apply a little fabric glue, sprinkle it with white and sliver glitter. when it's dry, shake off the excess. |
Thank you, thank to you all for such many suggestions. Now I finished appliqueing the snow over the branches. Then I have to find white chiffon and I thought to put it smoothly with seed silver beads.
I promise to post a picture ( if I can! Can I?) a.s.a.p |
