Olfa

I like my Olfa - have used it for years. The price looks good for one that big, too.

Omnigrid mats are my favorite.

The first mat I got was Fiskars, gray with orange lines. I could hardly make out the lines, hated the mat. After that it's only Olfa, green with yellow lines for me. Other people's eyes may be see the grey and orange better.

I see a number of people use the Omnigrid rulers, but very few have tried their cutting mats. Are the Onmigrid mats not as available in the US as they are in Canada? I find they are not as hard as some mats and not as soft as some others.

Sounds like a good deal, and Olfa mats hold up really well, better than any other I've tried.

I love Olfa and also have a mat I ordered from Salem (custom size) and it is really holding up well!

Some of the matts are gridded on both sides..and they usually have a different color on the other side also...for instance, my Fiskars is violet on one side with dark lines and pinkish on the other side with dark lines.

I wouldn't buy anything but an Olfa. I have had my 24 X 36 for several years, and it's not showing any wear. It's easy on my rotary cutter blades, too.

I have a cheapy from WalMart that I bought when I first started, and I hate it.

that is a great price for that size cutting mat, go for it, you may as time goes by decide you need a smaller (maybe to take to classes) or a larger one, but that is a great size for all purpose cutting and the price is really good, i've seen 12"x18" mats for $35. and olfa is a quality quilting tools company.
