Obsessed 12-16-2010 07:24 AM

My husband just told me that he ordered me a new Brother PC-420 for Christmas!

I can't wait - I've been sewing on a refurbished, basic "Simplicity" machine that I can't even find a manual for (I have searched and search online - they just aren't available). It usually works OK - but it is totally basic and has some tension problems that I haven't been able to iron out. It will make an adequate back up.

I am so excited to have all those lovely stiches to choose from - especially the alphabets! I have done my research and was not able to find a single bad review of this machine. (Please don't tell me any horror stories now! It's too late!)

Yay! Only 9 more days until Christmas - too bad I have to finish my Christmas sewing on my yucky old machine.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Merry Merry Christmas!! =) what a nice Santa!

Cyn 12-16-2010 08:49 AM

Awesome but keep the old one because I find it's wonderful to have another one threaded all the time for other stuff! My theory is one can't have too many sewing machines. On any one day I have at least 3 ready to sew because I'm never sure which project will turn me on that day! Yes, I'm spoiled that way!

Vanessa17 12-16-2010 09:51 AM

Congratulations. I also have a keeper hubby. He got me a Brother Serger, a Ped-Basic for the other Brother embroidery machine I have, and a 4 by 7 hoop....and don't let me forget the knitting book of socks he told me to get myself. All but the knitting book is here already. ( Nothing overly expensive and $350 total)...will finally get to play with it all, as we just got off the lttile gift cards for the great grandsons and the Great grand daughters got the dresses mailed I did for them. We have 13 greats and 3 of them have a birthday in December. I think I deserve to play...and now am off to do just that. YEA YEA YEA (Although it may take 3 months to understand the serger!...ggl) Congratulations again. We are both blessed. (special note: MY HUBBY IS NOT A CHRISTMAS TYPE SHOPPER, etc...but knew I was having a tough time with my brother and the chemo he is having, and doing all that sewing...so he thought he would bright up my life with it all) Hugs to all out there in the quilting board.

Merry Christmas to you! You must have been extra good this year and made it to the top of Santa's "Nice" list. Send pictures when your new machine arrives!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!

M.I.Late 12-17-2010 07:50 PM

I have that machine! Love it! Love it! Love it! He picked a great machine. I'm so happy for you. Don't know what you had before, but this is a nice machine.

Annz 12-17-2010 08:48 PM

Wow what a merry christmas you will be having.

IBQUILTIN 12-17-2010 09:53 PM

Congrats!!!! And don't think of it as doing your Christmas projects on the yucky old machine. Think of it as laying a dear friend to rest, and you are paying tribute

Sewslow 12-18-2010 02:46 PM

It got five stars on Amazon. DH got me a Brother LB 6800 for my birthday/Christmas and am looking forward to doing great things in the New Year. After I very loudly broke a needle while demonstrating for a friend how to embroider a butterfly, I finished Christmas sewing on my faithful Janome MC 4800. Don't we have great husbands?

ruthieg 12-18-2010 03:43 PM

Wow! What a wonderful husband you have and wonderful Christmas too.

Bubblegum0077 12-18-2010 05:33 PM

How thoughtful for your husband to get you something you actually want. Enjoy your machine and have a wonderful Christmas.

Rann 12-18-2010 08:49 PM

Tell him to go ahead and give you the machine and just wrap the box.

penski 12-18-2010 09:02 PM
