just sewing along happily making my son his little superhero lap quilt (that he literally cried for tonight before bed!) so I was determined to finish it and look what happened!! does anyone know how I would begin to fix this? or do I gotta call in professional help?

Nanamoms 08-11-2011 05:20 PM

Oh, looks painful to your little machine!!

scowlkat 08-11-2011 05:38 PM

See if there is a small screw missing - it is hard to see from the pic! Hope you can repair it quickly!

Peckish 08-11-2011 05:43 PM

Is that a Brother SE400? I have the same machine but I can't tell what's broken in your picture...

Susie Quilter 08-11-2011 05:48 PM

Oh no.....hope you get it up and running soon.

Rymer 08-11-2011 06:05 PM

it's a Brother XR-52....my husband is currently trying to put it back together for me. the piece that holds the needle fell. I think he might have got it. but now it's too late for me to attempt quilting again. oh well. there's always tomorrow. I just hope it gets fixed and that my son doesn't cry for it again tomorrow. :(

Painiacs 08-11-2011 06:19 PM

Oh no it's needs a cast to hold it's needle on! Lol. Hope u got it fixed!

DUCT TAPE..hehhe..seriously though...I think you lost a screw...should be an easy fix!

crochetetc 08-11-2011 06:40 PM

The worst part is holding the curve piece in place as you put it back together. I have knocked it loose before while cleaning my machine I unscrewed the wrong thing. Nothing to panic over.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I've had a screw loose for a LONGGGGG time:-)

Agree!! You have a screw loose .... as do many of us .....

I had something like that happen to my Viking. The screw is recessed in the little hole. Yours probably got loose and just fell off. On my machine the thumb screw that you loosen to change the needle broke off inside, so I had to get a whole new part and hack saw the old piece off.

Thanks everyone! I had to laugh at the one who said duct tape! LOL my husband was able to fix it. Today I am home w/ my sick little boy so hopefully I can get some quilting time in and finish his little quilt! (it's just for the car and is just made of strips so nothing fancy at all) but it's got superheros on it and that makes him happy!
