I have a terrible time keeping my ruler from slipping. I've read the tip on sandpaper but was just too lazy (or scared) to tackle his stuff to find sandpaper! Today though after ruining 3 blocks from slippage I braved it. Its probably heavier sandpaper than I need but oh wow the difference! I glued a few small pieces to the back of my ruler and it stays in place! Now to go out (once the rain stops) and buy me some sandpaper...preferably some sticky kind so I don't have to wait on glue to dry!

I am going to have to do this now too!

It will hold the ruler alright. I can't slide the ruler which I like to do, I have to pick it up and move it. I forget and try to slide with the sandpaper on the ruler, what a mess I have then. LOL. I bought a Gypsy gripper and it keeps my ruler from slipping and I can still slide it.

I've seen the grippers and may try one...one day when finances are better!

I bought some no slip clear plastic stuff from my LQS and it works great. If I"m doing smaller squares and stuff just to like cute squares in half I use a nail filer.

I had heard that there are grippers that are made to be used in the tub area that work just as well and are cheaper.

Anyone else hear of that?

They sell little round sticky circles of sandpaper in a package just for this purpose. It helps ALOT.

I need to try this. Now where is the sandpaper. :-D

I used plain old elmers glue and its still holding. Even after several days I'm still thinking this the best thing since sliced bread! I didn't realize how much the ruler moved on me till I tried this.
