That would be a better description of what's going on here too Shelly. :D I just think I'm working on all these things. Really, I just NEED to be working on them so someday they'll actually be full-grown quilts.

 I'm afraid some of mine have gone into permanant deep sleep and may never mature to be fully grown up quilts

I know what you mean Shelly. I just look up in my closet, shake my head, and say "some day". I think those tops just roll their eyes and laugh at me when I leave the room. LOL

I am working on three wall-hangings (all the same), my friend is machine embroidering the blocks for me with "LIVE", LAUGH" and "LOVE". These are to be 2 wedding gifts and a housewarming gift.

My big project that I just started designing is a mariner's compass surrounded by log cabins set in the barn raising style. It is to be a queen size for my sil and future bil for a wedding gift. They are both in the coast guard, so I wanted to do a mariners compass.

I like to "rescue" blocks that have been taken to 2nd hand stores or at the antique shops. I had these from a shop in Montana, and am going to put them in several different setting,( on point, in squares with Jacobs Ladder settings, etc.) I have plenty to work with as there were 30 huge blocks. Have no idea why they let them go.When finished they will go to the hospital and local hospice care centers.

Immediately I am working on Double Irish Chain that needs donning by Labor Day. Birthday present for my oldest. Then I have to finish piecing a McCall's pattern from last October called Homeward Bound, or Geeses and Pinwheels. That one will be finished a couple weeks after the Irish Chain. I then have to quilt my first top, a Yellow Brick Road. I am going to restart on a quilt called Eye Dazzler, I now know how to get all the points sharp. It will just take awhile as there will be a fair amount of paper piecing involved. Finally, I have all the fabric pressed for a cloth foundation quilt called Latilla. That will be probably pushed into next year seeing how my real work schedule is making my head explode.

Everyone is so energetic.
I was working diligently this morning until my dear husband came in offering a road trip through the southern redwoods and back so off we went and here is how I left my project. Tomorrow...

(Our cat, Kimchee, has managed to do everything illustrated in these cat blocks! Such a naughty kitty he has been!)

There is another row to be added to the top that looks similar to the botttom row.

Yvonne, I looked at your blocks up close and they are absolutely fabulous. Did you design the cat pictures? Are they embroidered? I have a black cat quilt in my head, but with more of an art Nouveau feel to it. Not on paper yet, but in line... as a stained glass kinda thing.

That's going to be so pretty cynde. I can't wait to see it. What in interesting combination-the compass with the barn raising! :)
