Soda exploded on fabric...
After 4 hours of piecing, I decided to reward myself with a can of Coke. When I opened the can, it exploded on my background fabric which is a white and black design swirly print. I immediately put it in the washer. However, the coke remains evident on the fabric and it is ruined. Help! Any ideas on how to get soda out of a white fabric?

Would washing it with white vinegar work?

perhaps Ivory soap or detergent gets things out. just don't dry fabric in dryer until satisfied all gone.

I would rub Dawn on the spots, let it set about 10 minutes & then wash again.

Awe, crap, Valerie Ann.
I feel for you. I'd do the Dawn, too. Let us know! |
Coke has caramel color in it with the sugar. Did you wash with warm water? Hopefully you didn't toss it into the dryer yet. Try the Dawn and let soak for a few minutes in "warm as you can stand" water. Squish it through then let sit a few more minutes and rinse. I wish you luck!

Maybe this will help:

I am lucky, my laundry doesn't stain, nor fabrics. I use cold water tide and wash in cold water. If I think something has a possible stain I spray with shout and naybe add clorox 2.
My Daughter says I have a magic washer. |
grandma's spot remover

I swear by Spray and Wash. I just used it to get some grease and rust looking stains out of a used tablecloth I bought. Had to pretreat and wash it twice in hot water, but it got the stains out.
