I have renamed mine Nap Quilts, long enough to wrap up my feet and tuck under my chin. My Son is 6ft so his is a little longer. Mine also end up on beds when needed. I also like to fold mine in half and place over my lap at times.

I always carry a small quilt in the car to wrap up in until the heater gets the car warm. I use it in the summer because my husband runs the air conditioning full blast at times.

I make my couch throws, that's what I call them, a bit smaller than a twin, but larger than a lap. How's that for confusing? ha But yes, we use them all winter and sometimes in the summer too. DH likes to keep the house cold with the A/C unit in the summer.

I make mine just big enough to cover all of me (or whoever I make it for) while lying on the couch. And mine get used a lot. :)

Yep, that size:) smaller than a twin, larger than a lap; that's about the size I make mine.

I need to invent a new size- one that the dog and I can share comfortably. I always end up with my feet sticking out and she hogs the blanket. Although I am bigger than her, she doesn't like to share. She doesn't do it to anyone else either.

I think the 60 x 72 sounds good.

I have always made bed quilts and am just starting lap/sofa quilts. Someone is always in need of a quilt to cover up with while watching TV, etc. I'm liking the smaller size.

At our house, a throw quilt has to be pretty long--my husband is 6' 4" and wears size 14 shoes! So, a quilt long enough to cover him AND his feet has to be about 75-80" long. I make mine about 60-75" X 75-80". That way, if I want to snuggle with him, there is room for both of us!
