What a great shape for a softball quilt block!
At this point, I'm thinking a center section with a softball field and blocks surrounding the center section with appliqued softball items - that block would be perfect to applique inside!

You could quilt in the borders different words like: Strike one, two three.... Your outta here....foul ball....strike out...the bases are loaded, etc...

Thanks for the ideas! I'm a really new quilter and don't have a lot of confidence in my ability to create applique from coloring pages, but nothing ventured nothing gained.
I never would have thought about quilting the words in the borders - what an awesome idea!

I jumped into this with both feet  and it turned out pretty darned well :D:D:D I think you will be pleased with how easy it is with fusibles.
