Solids that aren't "flat"

Hi, everyone-

I am desperately looking for a dark green to use for setting triangles and a narrow border. On a similar quilt (navy, red, orange), I used a moda solid navy from maybe 5 years ago. Before the bella solids, at any rate.

The navy was indeed solid, not mottled, but the richness of the color made it seem more dimensional than the kona ( which look flat, at least to me). I had a similar piece in red, too, that looked almost like velvet. It just said "moda" on the edge.

Are the bella solids like that now? Is there another line I should be looking at? I do have a shadowplay green, but it looks too busy.

I'm hoping not to have to order bits of green in from all over the country. :(

Thanks,
Charlotte

Check Connecting Threads - Quilters Candy Basics Mirage. Nice fabric.

Thanks for the tip, QG. I just looked and one looks very promising. Without an endorsement, though, I would have been suspicious that it wasn't very good at that low price.

Hugs,
charlotte

I love Mirage. Nice feel with glowy colors. Not as heavy as Shadowplay, but not flimsy.

This won't help you now, but Moda is releasing a "linen" look solid (with a slight weave ) in lots of colors next fall. look for it!
