I made some internal changes. Mainly, all topics that you have already viewed will have a "=>" link on the right side. It works the same way as it was with watched topics.
The link leads you to the last post you read in that topic.

Also, instead of "(new)" there is now "(new topic)" and "(new posts)" labels to indicate if it's a new topic or an existing topic with new replies.

Please let me know if you notice any inconsistencies with links and labels.

Thanks.

I like...also the new post/new topic...but I wonder if one of them could be a different color? rather than two shades of green??

Admin 06-01-2010 05:04 AM

Which colors would you suggest?

aliaslaceygreen 06-01-2010 05:13 AM

lol.... I'm partial to purple, lol....actually since you have a bright green for new posts, maybe something dark red? The light green/dark green doesn't stand out enough that I don't have to 'read' the words (just a belaboring issue, to read those two little words, lol...) but I felt your intent was to help us quickly scroll thru, so....

thanks for giving it some thought! and for this board...its a gem...

Admin 06-01-2010 05:27 AM

Yes, the idea is to differentiate them. So that once you get used to the different colors/shades, you wouldn't have to actually read the labels.

But I don't think red would be appropriate.

If we go with the basic traffic light psychology, the idea of the "new" label is to signal "go there" to check out the new content. Red would be the opposite of that. So marking something new with a red label would probably not be a good idea, especially if the other new label would be green.

I'll try to use bold or italic for one of the labels. Maybe that will do the trick.

Bold would probably do just as well!!!! thanks

Still on first cup of coffee.... took me a minute to see what you were talking about  LOL Will take some getting use to , but like the new topic- new posts

Question, some of posts have two arrows the same, the arrows double underlined, some have one arrow double underlined and the arrow with a single underline . What is the difference ?

THANKS don't know how I missed that

ctack2 06-02-2010 11:42 AM

With my challenged (lol) eyesight, I really have to look hard at the (new topic) (new posts) to differentiate between the bold and not bold Maybe it would be easier to notice new topics if the new notices were like this?

(**NEW**) or (**NEW TOPIC**)
(new posts)

Just a thought.

I don't know if you can do this or not, but i was wondering. Is it possible to do the new topics and the new posts in a different color? It would really help in going through the topics.

Barb_MO 06-02-2010 08:35 PM

I noticed the changer earlier, and I like the idea of have new topic or new posts
