some else's UFo

I have a quilt top that is 90" X 60" It just seems too narrow and too long. what do you think? what do you think I should do with it. it does have 1" sashing between every 3 blocks. I think it is missing something?

Do you have a picture? Can you take a row off the length and add it to the width? Even if you have to make a couple of blocks to add to it. Depending on what it is, maybe you can put something that coordinates, rather than try to perfectly match. I've never seen one with sashing every 3 blocks. Hard to visualize that part.

Give it to someone tall. 60x90 is the size I make for my 6'1" DH. It's long enough to go from chin to wrapping his feet in. I'm always baffled by "lap" quilts. I want something to keep all of me warm, not just my legs.

You could add borders only to the 60" side.

I wish you had posted a photo. I would pick up UFO blocks and just get them pieced and quilted and donate to our charity.

A photo always helps. My DH is 6'2" and I would want it at least 90" long. Like Feathers-N-Fur stated lap quilts are little shorter than I would want.

thanks for your suggestions, I'll give them some thought.

As far as I'm concerned - that's about perfect for a couch quilt. I'm short - 5'3" - but I still like my couch quilts LONG - for two reasons - in case I have to share it with DH - or to cover myself head to toe - with feet tucked in.

Sounds like it''s about the right size for a twin bed. If you want a lap quilt, can you cut some off? If you want a larger quilt, can you add some borders to the sides, either just plain borders, maybe some piano molding, or a coordinating block?

You can always even it out some by putting 3" or so top and bottom borders then maybe 6-9" side borders--------------or enjoy it for tucking in the feet.
