Have you used vinegar in your wash water - it whitens, brightens and removes odors. Also, a dryer sheet helps and if fabric is stored in a tote you can put a couple of dryer sheets in the tote to keep it smelling fresh.

I'm trying to be better with getting rid of old worn out stuff and stuff I know I won't use. But I don't think I will get rid of my buttons. For some reason, I enjoy "playing" with them.
I'll toss an iron without a second thought; and the same goes for dull rotary blades. |

Jan in VA I pre-wash and could cut you a stack of charms. I know a lot of people don't like charms because they can't be prewashed. To keep on topic: something that doesn't last forever ~ Kitchen sponges! I buy the yellow ones with the green scratchy side. Every time I throw out a grungy one, I wonder why I didn't do it earlier. :D |
If you microwave a sponge for 2 minutes, it disinfects it. I do this every day or so! Was so glad to see this hint somewhere!
