I need a pattern for a 12" finished block that is a 4 patch on point...with the on point triangles in white...I need the yardage for the white and the pattern...Can someone with EQ do this for me?

I need the yardage for a queen size...

Thanks,
MJ

I'm still new to EQ, but I can make you one for what you need I think. It's telling me that this pattern is called Broken Dishes? Does that sound right?

is this what you're thinking of? The size is 72 x 84

and the yardage needed is 2 3/4 yard of the white and 3 5/8 of the pink or the other color you choose.

Is this what you need? If so, it has 30 12" blocks.

Based on 42" wide fabric, the dark green is 5-3/8 yds, lite green 1-7/8, yellow 3-3/4 and brown 3-5/8 yds.

It's 72 X 86.

Somebody may want to check this yardage because sometimes I calculate less really needed. I have EQ5.

tan 1 1/8
Dk brown 1 1/2

What size (do I cut) are the 4 patch blocks?
What size are the QST in the blocks?

Thank you,
MJ

Hmmm, guess it would help to give you that information huh?

It says the HST are 6 7/8 x 6 7/8 and The QST are 4 3/4 x 4 3/4

That is all it gives.. just those 2 measurements for cutting

Sorry it's just b/w, my color cartridge needs replaced

Purplemem, on mine the patches are 4-3/4 square and the HST are 7 X 6-3/4 and then cut in half if that helps. I would make a dummy one 1st tho. I always do.

My program only gives rotary cutting measurements.

purplemem 03-07-2009 07:42 PM

that's exactly what I need!
Thank you very very much.
I will try tonight and post results.

Hi Everyone

I'm getting closer to my trip to town. About a month to go! :D I really like this quilt but I need your help being the newbie I am. I want to make a lap quilt. Not sure how much fabric I would need.(Making me a long list on everything I need) It needs to be roughly 50x60. Also what size squares would I use. I'm thinking 12" might be too big for a lap top. Any help would be great.

Now, the reason I'm looking for lap size quilts to make is because we have a organization here called Quilts for Cancer. I want to make and donate to this group. I can't get together with them because they meet during the day and I work. (I just hope my work is up to their standards :( ) This is why I'm trying to find easy quilts to make, but not ones that look like I gave them no thought. I can't quilt all the time so I have to go at my own pace. Slow ;)

Hubby was diagnosed with cancer when he was 39. He is now 45 and cancer free! My Mom was diagnosed 3 years ago. I could never imagine what one goes through when they get cancer. Now I know. I know how hard is was on them and I know what I went through living with someone who has it. I could have never imagined the stress. Thank the good Lord it's over! This is just something I feel I need to do.

I have a ton of of 4" squares. What would any of you do with them? I don't really have enough of any to get any type of pattern going. I have no idea what to do with a bunch of mismatched patterns.

Thanks to everyone
Kris

BTW- Has anyone checked out Overstock for quilting items? I did get my walking foot from them. Best price I could find just haven't tried it yet.

Kris,
go to http://mccallsquilting.com/ It cost nothing to join the site and they have all types of quilt blocks and ideas for quilts and you can preview the newest McCalls Quilt book on line. They also have some quilt patterns from back issues. It is a great place to get some ideas.
:D
