soup cans and the LAQ
If you need to reduce extra fullness in the quilt that is on your frame place a large(unopened) soup can on the quilt to the right of the head, quilt for a bit, then as soon as there is enough space put another large unopened soup can on the left of the head. You won't believe how nicely this works. I tried it today on a problem quilt with lots of extra fullness and when finished you could not even tell that there had been a problem.

thanks for the tip!

I will try this with those troubled quilts. Thanks

Thanks! Never thought of soup cans..they roll with you. How smart you are

i think i need to see this in action.....is there a youtube?
|
That is such a good idea. I usually put pressure on the quilt with my hand until it is all quilted in.

No Youtube that I know of but just place the cans on the quilt on either side of the machine and you will see how it eases in the fabric. the can on the right of the head rolls along as the LA moves across the frame. The one of the left stays fairly still. It is a very even easing technique.
