Soy Soft Organic Batthing by MODA. Has anyone tried it?

It's supposed to have the luster of silk, the feel of cashmere and stronger than wool, or cotton.

hmmm, not sure why luster is important in batting.

I was thinking the same thing, lol! Or about how it feels like cashmere... how would you know?

I have tried bamboo batting, not sure if it was the same brand that you're asking about. It does have a very nice drape and hand, and quilts up very nicely, that I will say. But I will take issue with Moda using the term "organic" in conjunction with "bamboo". The bamboo may be grown organically, but the way bamboo and rayon are processed is far from organic. I did quite a bit of research on this back in 2009. Unless they've come up with some new miracle way of processing it since then, they essentially beat the living daylights out of the bamboo with a lot of toxic chemicals.

Peckish...she didn't say bamboo. She said "soy". :)

I had to Google it...here's the blurb for it on Fabric.com:

Soy Soft is made of soybean protein fibers. It has the lustre of silk and the feel of cashmere. The fibers are stronger than wool, cotton or silk. Naturally antibacterial and made with eco-friendly materials. Cleaned without harsh chemicals. Our needle-punch technology enables us to avoid the use of binders or resins. Will not shift or shed. Stitch up to 8" apart. 50% Soy fiber - 50% cotton.

Sounds interesting.

Being it is made of soybean protein fibers - does this mean that it doesn't connect heat like poly?

Oh my gosh, I am such a doorknob! I must have been really, really tired last night! :p

I don't know a thing about soy, so I'm going to go away now. Lol.
